Haiti Mission Update

Tears of joy roll down my cheeks as I share this update on the Haiti mission taking place at the Mission of Hope, Haiti campus. All that I can think about is how good and gracious our God is to everyone.

“The Lord is good to all, and His mercies are over all His works. All Your works shall give thanks to You, O Lord, and Your godly ones shall bless You.  They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom and talk of Your power.” – Psalm 145:9-11 (NASB)

For almost ten years, serving global missions has been the catalyst for our adventures with God and growing closer to Him. When I reflect on the decision to travel to Rwanda, Africa I am blown away by how one act of faith and obedience produces a life of unimaginable experiences and unforeseen relationships.

The Haiti mission of developing an IT training school is so special because the project was initially intended for Rwanda or so I thought. God had a different destination or at least a different timetable that only His time shall reveal.  Although I still believe it was the best decision not to pursue the training center in Kigali at that moment, not fulfilling the desire to bring job opportunities to more deserving people weighed heavy on my heart.

Fast track, one year later since the Haiti mission inception, a technology training center will be open to students at the Mission of Hope Haiti campus in the early part of 2019. Woop! Woop! Today, I received pictures of the classroom construction progress and had to share an update.  In the very near future students will learn the latest computer skills, network engineering within a Cisco Network Academy, and numerous other technologies. This is a component of a much broader technical school with certifications in professional trades including diesel mechanics, HVAC, plumbing and welding. This type of education not only alleviates poverty for the students that graduate but generations that follow.

God has amazed and delighted us with an abundance of equipment donations and team talent that could only be recruited by God himself. Proving that when we have a God-given desire placed on our heart, and we are willing to bring that desire to life, He provides the means to make it happen! Why are we still surprised when this is precisely what He promises those who believe and trust in Him?  I’m truly not sure.

Serving is who God is, and therefore, who we are to be.  We are overjoyed to see the fruit of this Haiti mission ripening!

Enjoy the pictures that I received today!  Stay tuned for the official launch coming in 2019.
