It’s time to reboot

Here we are, October 2011 and I ask myself, what happened to the time?  Since my readership is so tiny most of you know what I’ve been doing over the last 1.5 years – basically buried in the corporate world trying to rebuild an IT organization.  So far so good – but that’s not what I intended to talk about today. The Lord’s journey never stops amazing me and I’m more in awe than any point in my life.  Continuous surrender seems to be the requirement for me to stay on track with His way.  Every time I surrender it is a tremendous blessing and something that should be shared.   We tend to believe... read more

Who says common sense is common?

Just a funny bit for the day…Why do they call it common sense when it’s not so common?!  I saw some very large croc’s (see below the sign) in Rwanda and I must say that it NEVER occurred to me to go sit on one!!

White as Snow

It’s a winter wonderland in Georgia today.  It was so exciting waking up to such splendid beauty of the pure white snow and the contrast that it creates when clinging to the world around us.  It made me wonder; can I develop a pure heart like the snow that would create a similiar contrast by clinging to the darkness that creeps inside the heart from time to time?  It’s certainly worth the effort.  Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. I’m grateful for the snow today and the beauty that it creates for us when it falls on our world.  It reminded me about this journey of faith and... read more

Delight in the Lord…

Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.  Psalm 37:3-5 Sure – sounds great but what does that really mean?  How does one explain the purest pleasure of just wanting to delight in the Lord?  I think when we understand how everything began and begins with Him in us, we can start to grasp what it means.  When we discover the unique thumbprints that He placed on us and we have tapped into those special gifts, talents and unique qualities, we begin to execute the activities that release those gifts.  When we release those unique gifts, we find ourselves in a lovely momentum throughout our days.  Whatever we do, we do... read more

An attitude like Christ Jesus

Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross!”- Philippians 2:5-8 One of my favorites

Just a Guest at the Greatest Party Ever

Have you ever stopped to think about where we are, right now?  I mean, really stop and ponder the fact that we were not here before, we are here for a very short time and then we are not.  I’ve thought about this a thousand times but never contemplated the perspective that we are living in a temporary story in the creation of God – God’s house.  In other words, we are simply house guests for a certain period of time.  We don’t own the forests, the roads, and especially the materials that make up the roads, homes, etc.  We think that we own our homes, our cars, clothes, and such but the fact... read more

The worldly battle – what does that really mean?

I never really knew what was meant by the battle and I wonder if others are curious about this as it applies to our daily lives.  Prior to the choice that I made to live a life of faith and surrender myself to Jesus; I lived a daily battle not only in dealing with daily living but first and foremost, in my own mind.  I am now very aware of this mental battle that plays out in my thoughts and can quickly overcome them through God’s strength and what might surprise you, good ole’ practice.  In my days of searching I thought that I would one day “wake up” and be “healed” miraculously in... read more

Birds of a feather…well, you know the rest

I shared a lovely weekend with my husband and also with some wonderful friends on Sunday. It is amazing how much the “Birds of a feather, flock together” phrase is really true. Not that this is any revelation at forty (cough)..well let’s just leave it at forty-something. However; as the mind and heart grows in spirit and strength, so do the people around us. Just one more blessing that God reveals as we come to know Him deeper. I bring this up because I was not quite prepared for this precious gift and I am constantly in awe of this. I didn’t have an expectation about that part of the faith journey so needless... read more

Keeping the lamp burning

If you want a love message to be heard, it has got to be sent out. To keep a lamp burning, we have to keep putting oil in it. ~ Mother Teresa

Careful intentions prevent careless consequences

Careful intention is a winning world of hosts.  It encapsulates our inner views and wonders about ourselves and where we are headed.  Preparations are a critical factor in this life mission of most high consequences and should not be entered into an agreement with lightheartedness.  If you’ve ever wondered about your sanctity, it would behoove you to carry a vessel of sacramental justifications previously mentioned on the mount [see Mathew 5].  Consequences are the very life blood of our deliverance and it’s there for the pleasure of the righteous.  Those who stop on the mount and still do not hear the voice of God will soon perish.  Constant wishes of the void are not... read more
