God Is With Us 247 purpose

God is with us; He is our leader

Looking in the rear view mirror, a reflection of the week where God stepped in as the leader. “God is with us; he is our leader.” – 2 Chronicles 13:12 How true of that statement! Through the highs and lows of doubt to determination, God always shows up and delivers on His promises and this past week was not an exception. How? You ask… Preparation – God is with us preparing the people, places, and things that we need well in advance. People that I met five years ago became advocates for my new business this week. Going out of their way to support, encourage and introduce my companies to people that can benefit... read more

God First. Is He Truly My Priority?

Around five o’clock am, I woke up with one eye open and fumbled for my iPhone strategically located on my night stand. I blinked a few times to remove the blur cautiously scanning my inbox for emails to alert me of any system issues. The morning inbox determined how hectic my morning would be and set the pace for the day. After a long day of back-to-back meetings, it was time to recheck the inbox which might take a few hours to catch up. If systems were stable, I jumped in the car for an hour commute home with a typical ETA of eight o’clock pm. Wake up the next morning, rinse and repeat.... read more

Learn How to Follow Jesus

God, How do I Follow Jesus?

God, Give Me Wisdom

So many mornings I pray for guidance, answers, and direction. Then I’m reminded that I simply pray for wisdom.  His wisdom is all that we need to pursue the character of God within us.  We make it complicated and sorrowful sometimes, and it weakens our ability to see the Light right there before us guiding and sheltering through the storms of chaos. Surely we see the coming of the Lord upon us in the distant future. Surely He will come for us and see His Glory stretched out across a land of mercy.  Purely are the flocks that follow in His presence and righteousness yearning to see the distant shelter that He built for us to dwell and occupy... read more

God’s Calling? Mystery Revealed

I’ve been grappling with the words to express what I’ve learned about the topic of finding our calling and our purpose in this life. I spent many years searching for it out there in far off lands, non-profit organizations and the like.  What God revealed to me spending 40 days of service and solitude in Rwanda was that we are to follow Jesus and put Him first in our lives – that is our true calling.  Not just on Sunday, at church or other Holy place but home, work and play. Our actions matter 24×7 – 365 days each year. Will He call us to provide individual acts of kindness, do appropriate actions and change... read more

Word of the Week: DREAM

Everyone has a dream.  A Dream… Distinguishes you Releases your potential Encourages you to seek Adjusts your attitude Motivates you A dream is the visual activator of who we want to be and where we want to go. A dream is always in the future somewhere out there that we cannot quite put our finger on but we are always seeking it.  We’ve heard the phrase “just living the dream.”  Although that can be true partially, most of us dreamers never stop wanting to realize a new potion of the dream, striving for the next level and the dream just gets bigger after each milestone is achieved. God has a dream for our lives and a... read more

Discovering God’s mission in your life

I had a wise lady tell me years ago that our mission here on earth is simply to serve and love God – that’s it and it’s the same for everyone.  Four very short but extremely powerful words.  Too simplistic and vague for most of us to grasp.  We want details, instructions, how-to manuals and precise direction.  Our “worldy” ways of living have created complexities in our lives that I don’t think even we can grasp – we just do it.  We’ve allowed ourselves to become so distracted and ‘busy” as a nation that it keeps us separated from God and extremely difficult to find His will for us. Allow me to digress a... read more
